We all remember when the all-girl Afghan robotics team, the Afghan Dreamers, were denied a visa to the United States, dashing their dreams of presenting a robotic prototype of their own design at a competition in Washington D.C. After this injustice hit the headlines, however, the right people got involved. Fast forward to 2018, and the Afghan Dreamers showed us what relentless dedication in the face of setbacks truly looks like when they secured visas and won the “Rookie Inspiration Award” at the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Detroit!
