By 7. A Fierce Muslim Woman Co-Leads the Women’s March
Even though it eventually became Problematic AF, it was cool to see Linda Sarsour co-lead one of the biggest moments for our generation’s feminist wave. The Women’s March catapulted into a global movement and gave rise to the visibility of a powerful veiled Muslim woman right along with it. Because of the organizing power of Linda and her comrades, we all had the opportunity to take part in a moment in history that comes once in a lifetime. The #MuslimGirlArmy proudly took part with our own MG contingent bussing down to D.C. in 2017! I couldn’t be prouder to have marched alongside them and still have my iconic poster of the American Flag Hijabi to pass along to my daughter one day.
