The Golden Opportunity

Since Ramadan is right around the corner, I decided to share some bits and pieces with you ladies regarding this holy month. This month is literally a gift from Allah (SWT) , it’s a chance to cleanse your soul from all the sins that you may have made during the year. We should all be…

Faith to Go

The iPod touch and iPhone are no longer just about music and movies (or the deafness and squinted eyes they undoubtedly cause with prolonged use). A slew of Islamic applications available at the iTunes App Store now give every Muslim with an Apple product in their pockets the chance to make their faith even more…

Life in Fast Forward…

I thought about writing this article as I was making myself tea. I was thinking about how fast time goes by. I was reminiscing of a time sitting with my friends.  I could hear the laughter like it was yesterday, the conversation like it was today. That memory is not because of how good of…

Who are Muslim Americans?

While almost anyone can spout off sensational views on what they think of Islam and its adherents, it’s rarer to find true in-depth and impartial analysis on exactly who represents Islam, i.e. the average Muslim, especially in the United States. However, the Muslim West Facts Project, a partnership between the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies and the Coexist Foundation, does exactly this in its recent report titled “Muslim Americans: A National Portrait”, which surveyed approximately 300,000 people and highlights Muslim American ethnic, economic, and political diversity, giving real insight on exactly what the modern Muslim-American, including the youth, is really like.

Those people who enjoy the pleasures of…

Why are our people inflicted with infections when we have the cure in…

The Danger with Envy

To every invention there is always a beginning. The strength of the building’s foundation determines its success. First we have to determine the location, then the surroundings, the materials, and then lay down that first brick. I was going to the beach using the interstate as I noticed the massive structures reflecting the hot sun…

Sami Yusuf – “Asma Allah”

Sami Yusuf is an international icon for his positive contributions to music, but he is recognized even more dearly by Muslims for his inspiring nasheeds. He has performed countless concerts in every part of the world, performed for a Gaza fundraiser last winter, and has recently become the youngest person to ever receive an honorary…

“Baby, it’s all good!” – A Poem

This is such an awesome poem! It’s too bad that the author is unknown. She’s very talented and has basically voiced the thoughts that are on the mind of every hijabi. What do you see when you look at me? Do you see someone limited, or someone free? All some people can do is just…

Are You A Carrot, An Egg, Or A Coffee Bean?

From Qisas.com A certain daughter complained to her father about her life and how things have been so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and she wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed that just as one problem was solved another…
