Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan) gave an impassioned speech denouncing the “apartheid government” in Israel and their continued “erasure of Palestinian life.” She called out the Biden administration for continuing to funnel millions of dollars of military aid to Netanyahu’s extremist, right-wing government.
“How many Palestinians have to die for their lives to matter?” Tlaib questioned her Congressional colleagues inability to act for equal human rights while organizations like Human Rights Watch have very clearly labeled Israel’s current actions as crimes of apartheid.
Tlaib demands that Palestinians be allowed to share their history without obstruction. She speaks to all of our common humanity when she demands immediate action in support of Palestine. We cannot afford to be silent any longer. Palestine needs us. Not tomorrow, but today.
