Yes, I Am a Muslim Girl and I Am Voting for Trump in 2024

People are calling him “Genocide Joe.” The man I voted for back then instead of voting for Trump and hoped would listen to the people who put him into office has failed us. The marches, the cabinet members resigning, and the actual facts of the genocide in Gaza have made little to no impression on his foreign policy toward Israel. Billions of dollars of aid continue to flow toward the Israeli war machine. And now, he’s bombing Yemen, without consulting Congress. And he also just bombed Syria and Iraq and Congress was not involved in any way. Members of Congress are increasingly objecting to this.

I have sat and watched with ever greater frustration and sadness Biden’s decision to play the middle, assuming, I guess, that the left will never vote for Trump so he can assume he has our votes. His disregard for the people who advocated for him, campaigned for him, and helped elect him is crazy-making. His total lack of concern for our morals as a country aside, he has betrayed the Muslim community, who in no small way were responsible for his win in 2020.

Now, with his policies, it appears that he may start another regional war in the Middle East. Provoking Iran, and bombing Yemen, all without the approval of Congress. Granted for decades the executive branch has engaged in wars independently of voters or Congress, but personally, I’m not resigned to that situation.

Biden seems to think that abortion will be sufficient to re-elect him, or women’s rights.  However, he seems unaware that his pro-LGBTQ+ stance has alienated a lot of the Muslim community. Given that Biden’s and Trump’s policies are both Zionist, I believe many Muslims, if people even vote, will vote anti-gay, with the prevailing concern for the introduction of sexually explicit curricula into elementary schools in the US.

Personally, up to a point, the Democratic Party has my vote due to the fact that I am pro-LGBTQ+ and pro-choice. However, Biden’s recent decisions have gone too far for me.

His total lack of concern for our morals as a country aside, he has betrayed the Muslim community, who in no small way were responsible for his win in 2020.

It is a depressing and disturbing fact that the U.S. has caused a tremendous amount of death and destruction in the Middle East. Trump had a clearly isolationist policy that while it did not help our allies, did calm down a lot of conflict. Trump pulled us out of Afghanistan, where we should never have been. Trump pulled us out of the conflict in Syria, albeit abandoning our allies to death in both places.

I am so greatly concerned that business as usual in Washington has taken over again, that we are at high risk of starting a larger conflict due to the war in Israel. And honestly, while I hate Trump’s domestic policies, I am even more opposed to U.S. interference in the Middle East.

It has taken four years for the U.S. to begin to return to business as usual and interfere with the world’s affairs through arbitrary military actions by our president. I am not willing to sit back and turn a blind eye either to Biden’s support of Israel or his attacks on Yemen and Iran.

I feel Trump is less likely to destabilize the Middle East. And that is enough for me to vote for him.

I was asked, “Why vote at all?” I have been raised to believe it is a sacred duty as a citizen of a democracy to vote. Honestly, we as the Muslim community need to come together and let the political machine know that we are a force to be reckoned with, not disregarded or taken for granted. They cannot be heedless of our concerns and interests and expect it to be a non-issue for them. Biden wanted to treat this as a political issue, not a human rights issue. I want him to know it is a political mistake to be indifferent to what matters to us.

I plan to go to the polls and complete my civic duty. I hate to turn my back on the Democratic Party, but if things continue the way they are right now, I will feel I have no choice but to vote for Trump. I feel Trump is less likely to destabilize the Middle East. And that is enough for me to vote for him. And I am not willing to vote again for Biden after he has used our tax dollars and our international influence to support genocide.

And I don’t know why this message hasn’t reached every person on earth, including Mr. Biden. We can bomb the world to pieces but we can’t bomb it into peace.
