Why the Phrase “Islamic Terrorism” Is Incorrect

Is the rise of recent terrorism and violence justifiably and rightly traced back to Islam? Is it a twisted misconception or interpretation of Islamic teachings? Is it wrong to let a radical minority represent the peaceful and authenticity of Islam? Has fear blinded the world to the scared lessons of peace and tolerance?

“To love mankind and to show compassion to others is an immense form of worship of God Almighty and an outstanding means of attaining His pleasure and rewards.”- The Promised Messiah

Many of the world’s 1.8 billon Muslims around the world see the “Islamic terrorism” as a violation and discredit to our scared texts and teachings. The fear spreading around the world has blinded many to the beautiful and sacred teachings of Islam, which date 1400 years ago when the foundations of Islam were laid down. The true followers of Islam, indeed, make every effort to show and preach responsibilities of love, compassion and respect. We desire and seek a world of peace and endeavour to establish the true, peaceful and compassionate message of Islam. In every aspect, Islam is a religion of harmony and peace with compassion and tolerance for all — there is no room for terrorism.

Allah the Almighty has commanded Muslims, who truly follow Islam, to treat all people with equality and righteousness, including enemies. Islam forbids cruelty and wrongdoing, meaning terrorism is not a religion and has no place in any religion.

Around 1400 years ago, during the time of the Holy Prophet (pbuh), a prophecy was made about a spiritual darkness that would arise, as we are seeing today, corrupting the faith of Muslims. During such a time many Muslims would go against the original teachings of love and peace, as we are seeing today. The extremists that we read about in the news, corrupt the teachings of Islam, blinding the world to the peaceful and harmonious teachings of Islam. In recent times, we are living in an unstable world, where conflicts are continuously rising, destroying the world, thus a fear of Islam and Muslims is still increasing, however the immoral acts in the name of Islam, hold no place in our beautiful religion. Therefore, according to our belief, Islam tells its followers to leave all hate, enmity and malice; but to unite under love and respect. Advocating peace, harmony and love for all, the Quran teaches:

“O ye who believe! Be steadfast in the cause of equity; and let not a people’s enmity incite you to act otherwise than with justice. Be always just, that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah. Surely Allah is aware of what you do.” Chapter 5, verse 9 of the Holy Quran

Allah the Almighty has commanded Muslims, who truly follow Islam, to treat all people with equality and righteousness, including enemies. Islam forbids cruelty and wrongdoing, meaning terrorism is not a religion and has no place in any religion.

Love for all and hatred for none.
