Week of February 9, 2024, Wrapped: “ICJ: Nicaragua Threatens UK With Court Action Over ‘Genocide in Gaza’”

In this week of February 9, we have been slowly but surely stepping toward a resolute solution regarding the status quo since October 7: either a ceasefire or “an absolute victory” — and no, not the victory we would want to see. I will not give lengthy introductions for this week; here is yet another horrific week with the top seven news stories that have been taking the world by storm.

1. “Israeli PM Rejects Calls for Gaza Ceasefire and Vows To Fight Until ‘Absolute Victory’”

We all know that at this point, Benjamin Netanyahu has no other option because he has trials to stand for his violations and crimes once the war is paused.

2. “Gaza’s Main Aid Agency Is on the Brink. The European Union, a Key Donor, Is Wavering Over What To Do”

I cannot comprehend how it is still the case for us that world leaders still believe the lies that the Apartheid State spreads. And you do not have to take my word for it; here is what the Member of the European Parliament and Irish Activist Clare Daly has to say about the entire political theater propagating the Israeli agenda: “So far, the EU and US response to Israeli genocide has been straight from the abuser’s handbook. DARVO: Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim, and Offender. And if that doesn’t work, sure, just change the subject. So as the genocide in Gaza continues, you want to talk about everything but Gaza. You refuse to put the item on an agenda, an agenda stacked with every cliché imaginable from Venezuela to Iran with pride of place given to the old reliable Russian interference. So across the pond, special agent Nancy Pelosi gives the signal branding Palestine protesters as Kremlin operatives, and like clockwork, the dark insinuations begin in Europe.” I do not think I need to comment on that; it is pretty much self-explanatory.

3. “Senate to Vote on Funding for Israel and Ukraine As Immigration Deal Set to Go Down in Flames”

According to The New York Times, $10 billion is to be dedicated to “humanitarian aid for civilians of global crises, including Palestinians and Ukrainians.” Fox News also tells us that Taiwan is included in this list as well, which is all good to hear until you realize that Israel alone is to take $14.1 billion for “security assistance,” also known as “mass bombing of innocent Palestinian civilians in the name of the ‘war on terror.’”

4. “Did Trump Really Say ‘This Country Is Just So Pathetic’?”

I mean, this piece of news marks the very first time for me to ever agree with something that Trump has said.

5. “Iraq Hosts Both U.S. and Iranian-Backed Forces. It’s Getting Tense.”

Of course, it is getting tense — as if they would sit together and sip lemonade, duh!

6. “U.S. Official Arrested on 6 January Capitol Riot Probe”

I am so done with conspiracy theories that surfaced around that time with QAnon members. But this sounds like a plot twist for me, especially because it involves a security officer of the U.S. State Department.

7. “ICJ: Nicaragua Threatens UK With Court Action Over ‘Genocide in Gaza’”

It is about time that major world leaders were held accountable. I hope to see Uncle Joe and Auntie Kamala join the soirée event.

We are bringing this week of February 9 to a close for now. Let us hope that any breaking news will be in our favor. See you all next Friday.
