Asking for something from Allah (SWT) is incredibly important, and an opportunity to feel closer to Him. During the blessed month of Ramadan, dua’a’s are known to hold a lot more value and are much more likely to be accepted.
The Prophet (SAW) has said:
“The supplications of three persons are never turned away: a just ruler, a fasting person until he breaks his fast, and the supplication of an oppressed person which is raised by Allah (SWT) to the clouds on the Day of Resurrection, and the gates of heaven are opened for it and Allah (SWT) says: By my might, I will help you even if it is after a while.” (Sunan Ibn Majah No. 1624).
After a long day of school or work without eating or drinking, especially during summertime, and after praying and spending time with family, making dua’a isn’t something that automatically springs to mind…
Although it may be a difficult thing to admit, after a long day of school or work without eating or drinking, especially during summertime, and after praying and spending time with family, making dua’a isn’t something that automatically springs to mind, even though it is an extremely simple way to increase our connection with Allah (SWT) during this Holy month.
During the early days of Ramadan 2018, I had this exact issue. But then, I came across a website, and although I didn’t know it yet, this website would become a regular part of my daily life.
Allow me to introduce you to “Sujood.co”! This website is incredibly unique in that it allows you to select how you are feeling, and offers you a dua’a for the occasion. And don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t just cater to basic emotions like “happy” or “sad.” Its algorithm also caters to strong and complex emotions including “disbelief”, “defeat”, “content”, “nostalgia,” and many more.
It then gives you a du’aa—or multiple—based on said emotion. This comprehensive and detail-oriented website offers up the dua’a/dua’as in question written in English as well as Arabic, and there is also a transliteration available.
For example, at the end of the day during Ramadan, after having played multiple sports, I’d feel incredibly weak. I’d choose that exact emotion on Sujood.co, and would then be given some dua’as, which automatically made me feel better.
My personal favourite du’aa on the website is the “productivity energy drink” provided for feelings of anxiousness and weakness:
This website, with it’s quippy phrases and easy-to-navigate interface made my Ramadan so much more meaningful, and helped strengthen my faith tremendously. With a massive collection of dua’as for every eventuality, it has brought me ease and comfort. I certainly hope it does the same for you, too.
