In this two-and-a-half minute video, Aaleeyah of CollegeHijabi.com collaborates with her best friend Bria to parallax the struggles of being a Muslim woman who wears the hijab and an African-American woman who wears her hair naturally.
According to Aaleeyah’s blog, this video was inspired by the Muslim woman in France who was forced at gunpoint to strip out of her burkini and the protest at Pretoria High School in South Africa where young girls were not allowed to wear their hair in Afros.
Another awesome aspect of the video is that it shares a title called “My Sister’s Keeper” — and if this is not a sisterhood to live for, then what is?
