In 2013, this graduate student from NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study, Melissa Boigon spoke before a Ted Talks audience focusing on the relationship between international political dynamics and prejudices against Muslims in the United States.

Biogon speaks of how Islamophobia is created through politics, the media, our entertainment industry, and within our own selves when we choose not to question right from wrong. She is not Muslim, not Middle Eastern, and gaining anything from dispersing this information other than dispelling the notion that Islam is a religion of hate.
