By The United States has just dropped the largest non-nuclear bomb on Afghanistan.
Reports say that the bomb was targeting an ISIS cave complex in eastern Afghanistan in the Nangarhar province at 7:32 P.M. local time, according to CNN. It weighs 22,000 pounds and is nicknamed the “mother of all bombs,” a bomb so large that it was
carried in a aircraft cargo holder, and then rolled out from the rear door.
The bomb, formerly known as GBU-43/B, cost $314 million to build. With a blast radius of 1 mile, not just the area intended will be affected.
Developed starting in 2003 during the Iraq War, it has been used for the first time today.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said, “The United States takes the fight against ISIS very seriously and in order to defeat the group we must deny them operational space, which we did.”
Questions we need to know now are why this bomb was used and how many harmed who were not intended targets. How many innocent were killed in this U.S. experiment?
