Travels to India: Hope Amid Harsh Realities

Orphanage Care

Our experience in Moinabad, Hyderabad (a two-day visit to the IMRC Girls Orphanage to learn about their everyday lives) held an entirely different worth. A stream of wide-eyed and beautiful angels rushing to welcome us was not what I was expecting. With their plaited hair, checked uniforms, and dimpled smiles, you would never know that many had endured painful pasts of parental death, abuse or abandonment. They greeted us as though they were greeting long lost friends from another lifetime — their shyness a thing of a past as they spent the morning playing, swinging, and running with all of us.
