Our first stop was a suburb of Hyderabad to visit the IMRC Indo-U.S. hospital, responsible for providing medical aid to the underprivileged including cataract eye surgeries, kidney dialysis sessions, and knee surgeries either at a heavily reduced price or completely free. What I knew previously was mere numbers on paper — more than 2,500 dialysis sessions, almost 8,000 patients treated, more than 19,000 patients screened for eye diseases, and 245 cataract surgeries performed just in 2014.
