Poem: An Answered Dua

Written by Kesya Adhalia.

And it’s boiling inside me

A convinction that is always buried by distractions

I am trying to count the craters in the moon

But the most faint glisten of a star

Pulls me away

My forehead rests on the floor for too long

The blood rushes up

But it is only I, who is holding me back

Longing for pink skies and sweet guarantees

The more I stray

The more I settle for a blood orange

The more I settle for broken promises

Most Gracious and Most Merciful, I beg you to save me
