Gladys Gryskiewicz, a Board of Education member in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, has resigned after reportedly posting a series of racist and Islamophobic messages on her personal Facebook account.
The Facebook posts were made in January and February, and include one where she said Muslims should “stay in your desserts[sic] and follow your religion in your own countries.” In another, Gryskiewicz appeared paranoid, echoing Ted Cruz’s adviser Jerry Boykin, who believes Sharia courts are infiltrating the U.S., saying “we cannot allow Islam to take over.” In yet another, she writes “Why now are we giving into[sic] the Muslims way of life? The French told them to get lost. This is what our President should be emulating.”
Screenshots of the posts, which Gryskiewicz’s attorney confirmed she wrote, were made public last month, sparking outrage from legislators, other Board of Education members, and students and parents alike.
She denied writing older posts obtained by The Record, including a November 2015 one that calls President Obama a “Muslim lover,” and says it’s “time to take action.”
Gosh, where was she radicalized?
