How Muslim Girl Helped Me Get Through 2016

People have anxiety for many different reasons, mine stems from childhood. I have always been a very happy young girl, but deep inside, my heart has always been broken. When you’re an adult, you can’t just watch cartoons all day expecting your anxiety to vanish. Nothing sucks more than having a lingering feeling inside that won’t go away.

Recently, I discovered the awesome network of powerful women, who make a huge effort to empower each other — women of every walk of life. God has really blessed me this year. I have always longed to be a part of a group of friends, where no judgement is passed. Along with this awesome clique comes great mentorship, love, and acceptance.

Anxiety is hard to understand. Real anxiety takes over your life, and lingers over your soul. It takes you from being high up on cloud nine, to being close to hell. Everyone copes with it differently; one of my coping mechanisms is writing and being apart of Muslim Girl.

Before Muslim Girl, I always wanted to fill my void of anxiety. I thought maybe writing and helping other women can really be therapeutic. So I gave it a shot. I emailed Muslim Girl and asked if I could write articles for them.

Thank you Muslim Girl for helping me cope with my mental health issues. Without you, It would be hard to be myself. Thank you for letting me write articles, and guiding me through my writing. Thank you for giving the opportunity to be a part of such powerful group women who inspire to be the best mother I can be.
