American actress Lindsay Lohan recently vacationed in both the UAE and Thailand and was seen wearing a burkini at a beach in Thailand, where she was paddleboarding and having a photo shoot.
This is not the first time the actress was spotted in Islamic attire. Earlier this year, she wore a hijab (headscarf) while traveling from Turkey to New York, but was asked to remove it at an airport in the U.K.
Lohan was also seen holding a Qur’an while out in public, back in 2015. Her instagram description is currently “Alaikum salam.”

These events have raised many eyebrows, and Lohan responded to the speculation of whether she has converted (or is planning on converting) to Islam in an interview on Good Morning Britain. She said, “Religion is a personal belief… [Converting to Islam] is a consideration that I have.” She also stated that the Qur’an is “something that feeds [her] soul.”

As far as the burkini goes, it is not the only kind of bathing suit that Lohan wore during her vacation. She also wore a more revealing swimsuit, and posted a picture of herself wearing it on her Instagram.
As Lohan stated, religion is definitely a personal belief. As for me, I am interested in seeing where her journey takes her.

This is very cool to see! Too bad some places want to further regulate what women wear by banning burkinis. Wouldn’t it be nice if women were allowed to dress pretty much however they wanted without other people always feeling the need to intervene? And I am not even implying just men here, I mean women, too. We need to support each other, not judge each other, whether we are wearing burkinis or bikinis.
