Linda Sarsour Arrested During #ADayWithoutWomen

At approximately 1:30 P.M. yesterday, March 8 — activist, Women’s March organizer and Palestinian Brooklynite Linda Sarsour was arrested outside of Trump tower for disorderly conduct.

According to Fader, protesters of the Women’s March’s #DayWithoutAWoman convened at 59th and 5th, on the southeast corner of Central Park, protesters marched down 59th Street towards Trump International Hotel.

Isaac Saul stated on Twitter that “Police gave several warnings to disperse. Sarsour and others refused, one was taken to the ground.” Sarsour and other protesters were planning for form a human chain around Trump Tower.

Women’s March organizers Tamika Mallory, Carmen Perez and Bob Bland were also arrested.

The Women’s March Twitter announced that there will be a meeting at 7th precinct (19 1/2 Pitt St) in Manhattan to show solidarity with the national organizers who were arrested.
