Stop Thinking that Wearing Hats with Hijabs Is Taboo

Hats and Hijabs. I know you’re thinking that it might be a little weird. I definitely thought so. However, recently I’ve learned to embrace it. Hats have their own personality and add so much to a simple outfit. They’re easy to wear, especially in the summer under the sun. I personally enjoy wearing them in the fall, but these accessories add the perfect amount of class, and the right amount of casual in any kind of weather.

In this picture, I decided to wear my floppy hat with some boyfriend jeans and my favorite black shawl. There are so many hats you can try that work for whatever style you’re rocking: a beanie, floppy hat, wool hat, or a fedora. Here are some tips when wearing hats with hijab.

1) Color: All hat colors work well with a black hijab but what makes it look more uniform is wearing the same color of each. Black hat, black hijab.

2) Hijab: Keep it simple. Don’t try to add volume or a high bun, or you’ll have a high hat, and that isn’t really cute!

3) Outfit: Lastly, stay minimal with style and color. In this case, less is definitely more. Boyfriend jeans, capes, and shawls all work fine but shouldn’t have too much going on. For example, if you’re wearing a  tribal cape, pair it with black tights, boots and a black hat.  Don’t try to add too many prints or colors.

Will you be a risk taker and wear your hat with a hijab? Give it a shot. You might end up liking it as much as I do.
