By What about the mission of NCPCF do you think makes it so effective at advocating for the preservations of freedoms after 9/11?
What makes the NCPCF most effective in its advocacy efforts is the centering of the voices of impacted families. While Muslims and Muslim Americans across the board have experienced various degrees of targeting and trauma, no one knows the pain of being directly targeted than impacted families.
Another aspect of the NCPCF’s work that makes our advocacy effective is that we explicitly state what other organizations are often hesitant to acknowledge; that is that the War on Terror has almost exclusively targeted Muslims and Muslim Americans. In operating through this lens, we seek to challenge jingoistic racism and Islamophobia as rooted in imperialism.
