The Leader of Dubai Sent a Private Jet With Relief Aid to Haiti

Have you ever heard that saying “When you hurt, I hurt?” Well that’s exactly how the leader of Dubai felt when he loaded up his private plane with relief aid to head to Haiti and help those who were affected by Hurricane Mathew.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is making it a priority to ensure the victims of the hurricane have a home that was swept away from them, restored back to the way it was. His wife is no stranger to Haiti either. Back in 2010 when Haiti had an earthquake, Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein helped send resources to the island.

As human beings, it is our divine obligation to offer any assistance we can spare to improve each other’s standard of living.

This time, she was the first to conduct the relief aid plan when she asked her husband for help. Maktoum sent $450,000 worth of materials that consisted of medical supplies, tents, mosquito nets, water purification units and other necessities. Maktoum is known for being involved in charity work. His wife was quoted by the press describing her husband to always be there for those who need help.

At the end of the day, this is what it comes down to. As human beings, it is our divine obligation to offer any assistance we can spare to improve each other’s standard of living. Many of us would have never thought to do something like this and would just be thankful it wasn’t us. Regardless of who you are, what your religious affiliation is, or what your race is, there is a common ground that we are all human beings striving for the same rights and basic necessities.
