After making history at New York Fashion Week by featuring all hijab-clad models walk down the runway in stunning ensembles, Indonesian fashion designer Anniesa Hasibuan continues to go global. She’s now taking the Middle East by storm.
On Nov. 30, she debuted her collection Royal Paradise at Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week in Doha, attracting attention with her high-end couture pieces fit for royalty. She tackled the task of handmade couture by weaving regal intricate details with an array of everything—from sophisticated pastels to earthy tones in her collection. Hasibuan was inspired by the beauty of nature that shined through in every piece.
Her Doha debut was in partnership with the IDF (Indonesian Fashion Gallery) and aimed to show more of an ethereal and modern take on modest fashion. She carried on the element of modesty by once again featuring all her models in headscarves styled in different ways, with complimentary colors and fabrics to the clothes.
The fashion show was a giant success and drew a large crowd of fans and media alike, all eager to see what new exciting aspect she will bring to the modest fashion world next. Take a look at the making of Royal Paradise in the clip below!
