On February 3rd, 2019, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Atlanta-based rapper, 21 Savage, citing his presence in the United States as unlawful because his family overstayed their work visa. Just a few days before his arrest, 21 Savage had spoken out against ICE and the family separations they were responsible for.

ICE disproportionately targets Brown and Black immigrants like 21 Savage. He joins countless immigrants who have been inhumanly detained by government officials due to our failed immigration policies. In 2018, ICE detained a record 42,000 people, the highest number recorded in ICE’s 15 year history.
