Contrast: A Halloween Makeup Look

Halloween is here!

Whether you think it’s stupid, or it’s your favorite time of the year, it is a chance to bring out the dramatic look in you! You don’t have to dress up as a ghoul to embrace the dark look. All you need is a dark lip and some eye shadow.

I worked on a look to celebrate the holiday style using the most dark and dramatic color I could think of: black.

To fully welcome the Halloween look, it’s important to have contrasting colors: light and dark. I did this by applying little to no contour to my face, and a whole bunch of highlight! This evens out the dark eye and the dark lip.

For my eyes, I used a bronze brown to be the base of my eyes, and used a darker brown to shadow the creases. I used this brown to line my lower lashes, too. Lastly, to get that darker look, I used black to shadow the browns all together. Make sure you blend, blend, blend!

Line your eyes with a nice black liner, and prop up your lashes with the best mascara you’ve got! I recommend L’Oreal’s Telescopic Shocking Extensions.

Now, the dark eye might be enough for you, but I say take it home! Find a nice dark, sultry lip color for a greater dramatic look, and work it! I used black in my look because I wanted to go as extreme as I could.

Last, but definitely not least, wear a light colored hijab to bring out the contrasts on your face! Traditional style frames your face to emphasize your dark Halloween look. Turban style adds that extra flare to the dramatic
