While we honour our identities every day at MuslimGirl.com, we are excited that our annual #MuslimWomensDay campaign is used as a day to celebrate Muslim women globally. This day is crucial to challenging stereotypes and generalizations in the discourse surrounding Muslim women, and is becoming more and more pertinent due to a global increase in anti-Muslim rhetoric.

Throughout the day, we had our partners, Muslim women, and even allies, celebrate with us by using the #MuslimWomensDay hashtag on social media to share the stories of the Muslim women they admired. Also, artists used their talents to showcase their art and graphics to commemorate this vitally important day and as expected, there were so many pieces that hit home for so many of us. Whether it was showcasing our unique identities under the broad umbrella that is being a Muslim women, to showing solidarity from allies, the graphics and original art was quite touching to see.
