We Found the Perfect Eid Book!

If you know me, I am a children’s book hoarder. I especially am interested in children’s books written for Muslim children. So when I came across a new Eid book, I was a little too excited. As an educator and mother of two young ones, I’m always looking for inclusive, diverse books. This book is titled  “One Perfect Eid Day And No More Cake!” by Suzanne Muir, a librarian, and illustrated by one of my favorite illustrators, Azra Momin.

I was able to preview the book published by Compass Books and it is definitely a must-have for Muslim homes, as well as libraries and your children’s classrooms.

“One Perfect Eid Day and No More Cake!” is a counting book about Eid al-Fitr and is great for infants, toddlers and preschoolers because of the numbers and the vibrantly beautiful illustrations. There are about two sentences on each page, which makes it an easy read for young ones. One of my favorite things about the book is how it features diverse children of many different colors and ethnicities.

This book would be great to have to read to your own children on the last couple of days of Ramadan to get them excited for Eid or simply gift it to them on Eid day. It’s very affordable at just about $7 from Amazon.

What are some of your favorite Eid books to read to children?
