Syrian Refugee Family in Arizona Told They’re Not Welcome

Being a refugee is difficult enough, what with trying to learn a new language and get used to a different culture, all while bearing the physical and emotional pain of escaping a war-torn country. Rather than finding welcome cookies or letters from their neighbors, recently, a Syrian refugee family found a hateful, unwelcoming note on their front door step.
The note said things like “Go away killers” and “America hates terrorist[s] like you.”
CAIR-AZ has been notified and urged law enforcement to investigate this possible hate crime.
The family of four feels scared to go back to their home, and are staying with their friends until the incident is further investigated.
