“Sooo what do you call someone that attacks others for their religion? ”

Well, Muslim, generally. Hold the phone, forget San Bernadino, some lady just poked a Muslim with her umbrella! You know, I was six years old when 9/11 happened in front of me on live television, but I didn’t really oppose the Islamic “movement” in America until these past few years…But these transparent attempts at PR repair by dredging up nonevents in the wake of a terror attack and then presenting them as proof of “pervasive Islamophobia” are pretty fricking galling. “Mainstream” Muslims seem less concerned with demonstrating that their religion is being abused by the terrorists and more concerned with trying to prove that their adopted society is against them, and thus the terrorism is really the West’s fault. If things are so hard for you over here, feel free to go home.

    • Nihal Al Qawasmi

      I am home.

      • Bertram Roberts

Good. Stay there. Don’t come here if our infidel county makes circumstances so unbearable for you.

        • NorthAmerican Trading

Gosh! Bertram, you did not understand the answer. ‘I am home’ meaning she was born here. So here is her home.

        • http://maleeshda3wa.tumblr.com Nadia

You don’t get to decide who goes home. Your ancestors aren’t Native Americans or Latino, so you go back to Europe.

          • Bertram Roberts

The Native Americans didn’t found the polity known as the United States. The United States was founded by others on the idea of religious freedom AND freedom of speech. If your worldview is incompatible with those concepts, (as it would appear in the case of the article author, who is whining about comedians threatening to tell a joke) then you should go elsewhere. If you feel that you have the right silence people who criticize any political or religious idea, go home. This isn’t the place for you.

          • Zeinab

@ Bertram You literally just contradicted all your statements by saying what you said. You basically are saying all Muslims should go home and then you say this country was founded in freedom of religion and speech. Then Muslims don’t have to leave and Muslims shouldn’t be persecuted and told that they are not welcome.

          • Bertram Roberts

I’m saying that if they object to the concepts of freedom of speech and religion, they would be better off elsewhere. This article is mostly composed of whinging complaints regarding the exercise of freedom of speech.

“Don’t come here if our infidel country…”

Your Infidel country? The more I come across your comments the more the thought is reinforced that you are either an obsessed but benign troll, an uneducated not very bright trailer trash or a ‘holier than though’ Christian, foolishly unknowingly insulting Christianity, the Holy Bible and the Pope….all in one go.

You seem arrogantly trying to insult Muslims but as it often happens with ignoramuses like you, you belittle yourself, shoot yourself in the foot and Christian belief in the head. Please note that Infidel is NOT from Islam. It is NOT in the vocabulary of Muslims. It is NOT in the Qur’an. Muslims don’t use that word. Period.

During the previous Crusades, over a thousand years ago, the word Infidel was used by the Pope to muster and charge the Crusaders to attack, defeat, eliminate, exterminate the Muslims and Jews from the “Holy Land”.

Muslims, the Pope declared were disbelievers. Muslims and Jews, he said did not believe in Jesus Christ as son of God and as God.. That Muslims and Jews did NOT believe in the Christian Trinity they were disbelievers:”Infidels”.

In Islam, in the Qur’an, Muslims call Jews and Christians most respectfully as ”People of the Book”. The Book referred here is: [The Old Testament Sacred Torah + The New Testament(Ingeel) + The Qur’an Majeed, The Final Testament]. Muslims believe the Judaism, Christianity and Islam, all have Abrahamic roots. They are NOT infidels according to Muslim belief.

The Pagans, Idolaters, and Atheists are called Kafaars, Kafreen, plural: The disbelievers. The word Kaffaar in Arabic means ‘One who hides/covers the Truth’ while knowing it. An unaware Atheist or Pagan probably does not fit that definition in my limited understanding. The word Infidel is NOT used by Muslims for Christians, ever. Period.

Please understand that the Christians used the word Infidel well before the advent of Islam. It is in the Christian Holy Scripture. Christians especially called all non-believers in Jesus as God to be Infidels and enemies of God. To be converted under duress or exterminated by burning alive. The eyes are burnt out first in Jesus name. Religious Christian hymnals were sung and celebrations held as the deed was ‘processed’ on the stake. Currently it is done by napalm, phosphorous and hellfire munitions.
          .
Please Note: The Holy Bible[KJV] uses the word Infidel as follows:

[2 Corinthians 6:15]”And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?”
[1 Timothy 5:8]”But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.”

That was before the advent of Islam. Jews were being targeted. So, now you know why you give the impression of a hate filled ignoramus troll trailer trash. You have NOT read the Holy Bible either.

          • Bertram Roberts

Propagandistic bullocks. And I like how you spout “trailer trash” stereotypes about southern Christians—which I am not. Such poisonous hatred.

“Please note that Infidel is NOT from Islam. It is NOT in the vocabulary of Muslims. It is NOT in the Qur’an. Muslims don’t use that word. Period.”

            “Shirk”has essentially the same meaning.

“During the previous Crusades, over a thousand years ago, the word Infidel was used by the Pope to muster and charge the Crusaders to attack, defeat, eliminate, exterminate the Muslims and Jews from the “Holy Land”.”

And Muslims acquired that land peacefully, I’m sure? No massacres of Jews like the Banu Qurayza?

” be converted under duress or exterminated by burning alive. The eyes are burnt out first in Jesus name. Religious Christian hymnals were sung and celebrations held as the deed was ‘processed’ on the stake. Currently it is done by napalm, phosphorous and hellfire munitions.”

Oh, the demon Crusaders. The war on Islamic terrorists is all a grand Zionist-Crusader conspiracy to convert everyone to Christianity. I know how you people think. Meanwhile, in real life, there’s Christians, Jews, and Yazidis getting their throats slit across the Mideast. This is what I despise about the Islamic movement in the West. Half of you are trying to deflect the impact of the atrocities of Islamic terrorists by claiming that Westerners are doing the same thing—modern secularist nations are engaged in a secret plot to convert everyone to Christianity.

      • Krishna Murti

I don’t think he gets it.

  • Sia

Well, every isis terrorist attack and video from isis telling the world that we will all die in the name of allah, that’s where. Its hard to believe that after all the slaughter in the name of islam that you are upset about bad press for muslims. I think the families of the dead victims have a much bigger grievance. Islam is as islam does, there is not one country run by islam that does not oppress or kill gays, people of other religions and women. So do be all ” that is not islam” and “islam is the religion of peace” when the proof of the falseness of those statements is in the news every day. The muslim reaction to the San Bernadino slaughter was not sympathy, horror, and concern for the victims, it was only concern for potential backlash against yourselves.

  • Paolo

I have listened to the founder of this website on NPR, and I found it appalling that all she was able to do in her interview was complain over and over about how difficult it is today to be a muslim in the US. Very selfish attitude. This constant victimism is counterproductive, you better realize that. Look at ways to be part of the solution, look at the true reasons of these difficulties! If you stop at whining for your perceived condition, you won’t do anything useful.
