The Malala Fund Backs MuslimGirl.net!

MuslimGirl.net is honored to receive backing from the Malala Fund for our first-ever crowdfunding campaign, Ramadan of the Muslim Girl. We launched our campaign this Ramadan with the intent of taking things to the next level for our readers and the sake of Muslim women’s media representation everywhere. Our goal is to raise seed money to transform into the first mainstream media network by and for Muslim women. We could not be happier to have the Malala Fund’s support for our goal!

The Malala Fund was founded by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai to “amplify Malala’s work by championing the voices of other girls, highlighting what works in girls’ education and calling on leaders to do more.” They have supported local and global initiatives in developing countries around the world, including Pakistan, Jordan, Lebanon, Nigeria, Kenya, and Sierra Leone. Their support of MuslimGirl.net comes before the upcoming release of their new documentary, He Named Me Malala.

“MuslimGirl.net is such an incredible example of being fully dedicated to your faith and culture, while showing creativity, engagement with modern issues, support of global causes — and embracing the parts of US/UK culture that are fun or interesting, without compromising who you are in the least,” says Malala Fund President Meighan Stone. “I actually check it out it a lot, even the fashion features!”

We graciously thank the Malala Fund and the superwomen who actively work on its behalf to make the world a better place for girls and women. Our continued work will not be possible without their contribution and the ongoing support of our readers.
